NPCC Lady Knights Volleyball Loses to Hastings JV

Valerie Most had a team high 20 digs on Wednesday night vs. Hastings JV

The North Platte Community College Lady Knights fell in four sets at McDonald-Belton Gymnasium to the Hastings College Junior Varsity Lady Broncos  three sets to one, 25-13, 25-12, 22-25, 25-20.

The Lady Knights started out the match sluggishly and Hastings jumped out to a 3-0 lead.  The Lady Broncos never relinquished their lead to take the first set. In the second set, the Lady Broncos began with an 8-1 lead.

The Lady Knights didn’t take their first lead until the third set when they led 7-5 and extended it to 18-11.  Hastings fought back and made the set close.

The Lady Knights were led in kills by MaKenna Ketter with 10.  Valerie Most added eight. Most also added 20 defensive digs to lead the Lady Knights and Megan Chintala added 17.

Shelby Wolever had nine service points and 10 set assists.  Aryn Meisinger led the Lady Knights in set assists with 16.

The loss drops the Lady Knights to 5-6 on the season.  They will have a week off before hosting McCook Community College for “Camper Night” and “Alexa Hopping Recognition Night”.

Hopping is in her first year of coaching the Lady Knights.

“Camper Night” is that those who attended the Lady Knights Junior Sports camp and wears their camp T-shirt will be admitted free along with their family.
