Lincoln, Neb.- The Nebraska football team wrapped-up another practice in preparation for their season opening game this Saturday versus BYU on Thursday. The Huskers practiced inside the Hawks Championship Center for around two hours without helmets or shoulder pads.

Nebraska Head Coach Mike Riley spoke with the media following Thursdays practice, mentioning that the team has done well up to this point in preparations for BYU, but said that the team still has one more practice this week and needs to come back strong and finish Friday’s work.

“I have really appreciated this team’s work, they are conscientious and their intentions have been good,” Riley said. “I think they work hard, it has been fun getting to this point.”

Riley mentioned there has not been any new injuries on the team so far this week, noting that the team is healthy and ready to play against BYU on Saturday. Coach Riley did mention that the team is taking all the proper precautions with hydration as it relates to Saturday’s game. Temperatures in Lincoln could reach the mid-90s during the game.

According to Riley, there will not be a set rotation of running backs used in Saturday’s game, as coach said there will be multiple guys getting their share of the carries, depending on the situation.

“We don’t have a set rotation on how that is going to go. There are certain things we have marked for different guys so we will probably do it according to that and be aware of that during the game,” Riley said. “It is not a set rotation.”

*Coach Riley named the five players suspended for the BYU game on Thursday–Michael Rose-Ivey, Jonathan Rose, Cethan Carter, Joe Keels and Robby Painter.

The Nebraska football team kicks off its 2015 season this Saturday against the BYU Cougars in Lincoln. Kickoff between NU and BYU is set for 2:30 p.m. (CT) and will be nationally televised on ABC. Check back at Huskers.com for full Husker football coverage.
