The North Platte Community College Lady Knights got back on the winning track Tuesday night by defeating the McCook Community College Lady Indians in three sets 25-12, 25-20, 25-14.
In the first set the Lady Knights jumped out to a 13-6 lead behind the serving of Megan Chintala. The score was tied at three, Chintala had seven service points. The Lady Knights controlled the rest of the set.
In set two, Chintala continued her hot serving, scoring five service points to make the score 8-2. The Lady Indians rallied to tie the score up at 10 and then went on to lead 20-19. Aryn Meisinger served the next six points to give the Lady Knights the win.
Set three, the Lady Indians jumped out to a 5-3 lead, but then the Lady Knights took over. Gabrielle Nickel had two service points. McCook tied it at six. Meisinger served 12 points to put the Lady Knights up 19-6.
In the match, Meisinger had 18 service points and Chintala had 17.
The Lady Knights had 38 kills, led by Valerie Most with 11 kills. MaKenna Ketter and Josie Palmer each added eight.
Shelby Wolever led the Lady Knights with 25 set assists. Meisinger had six service aces on the night.
The Lady Knights even their record to 6-6, while the Lady Indians drop to 2-13.
The Lady Knights will take to the road this weekend by travelling to the Pizza Hut Classic in Sterling, Colo. They will play Sheridan College and Trinidad State Junior College on Friday, and face Garden City Community College and Otero Junior College on Saturday.
