The North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team will travel to Sterling, Colo. this weekend to participate in the Pizza Hut Invitational, hosted by Northeastern Junior College. The tournament will take place on September 11-12.
The Lady Knights are 6-6 on the season. They are led in kills by Valerie Most with 117 kills and MaKenna Ketter with 107. Shelby Wolever and Aryn Meisinger lead the team in set assists with 154 and 139 respectively. Jessica Lovitt and Samantha Morgan share the team lead in blocks with 31 each. Megan Chintala leads the team in digs with 161.
The Lady Knights will play the Sheridan (Wyo.) College Lady Generals at 1 pm. Sheridan defeated the Lady Knights the first match of the season at the Subway Invite. They are 8-4 on the season and led in kills by Sulieti Hifo with 82 and Charity Sadang with 80. Maaryn Davis has 335 set assists, Dani Porter has 196 digs, and Courtney Smith has 37 blocks.
The Lady Knights will then face the Trinidad (Colo.) State Junior College Lady Trojans at 3 pm on Friday. The Lady Knights defeated Trinidad State earlier this season at the McCook Community College Invite in three sets. The Lady Trojans are 5-8 on the season. They are led in kills by Hannah Reynolds with 119. Emmy Gazaway has 183 set assists and Jordin Hanley has 165. Dorian Ray has 223 digs and Reynolds has 58 blocks to lead the Lady Trojans.
On Saturday, the Lady Knights will play the Garden City (Kan.) Community College Lady Broncbusters at 10 am. Garden City is 1-11 this season. Leaders for the Lady Broncbusters are: Taylor Linenberger with 91 kills, Alexis Tamamasui with 123 set assists, Makayla Castro with 136 digs, and Kayla Dougherty with 32 blocks.
The final opponent of the tournament for the Lady Knights is Otero Junior College at 2 pm on Saturday. The Lady Rattlers are 8-3 on the season. Otero is led by E’lexies Patterson with 140 kills. Kendra Steffen has 236 set assists. Other leaders are: Brianna Murphy with 149 digs and Karina Erreguin with 43 blocks.

The Lady Knights will return to the home court on Thursday, September 17 when they host Central Community College. That game has been designated as “Education Night” and “Girl Scout” Night. All educators, girl scouts and leaders will be admitted free into the match.
