Maxine Locke

Maxine Locke, age 88, of Maxwell, died September 12, 2015 at her daughter’s home at Maxwell. She was born on June 1, 1927 at Ridgeway, MO as the 13th child of John and Estella (Parrish) Beeson. Maxine grew up in Missouri and moved with her parents and 7 siblings to Chillicothe, Mo in 1929 and graduated from Chillicothe High School. After graduation, Maxine began her career with the telephone company in Missouri. Maxine married Walter David Kinzler on August 7, 1949 in Chillicothe. To this union, 3 daughters, were born; Trudy, Tonda, and Tracy. The couple lived in various places before settling in North Platte where Maxine worked for the telephone company as an operator.
After retiring from the Telephone Company, Maxine moved to Lewellen, NE. There she married Jim Locke on May 1990 in Lewellen, NE. She worked at Marshalltown Instruments in Oshkosh, and the Lisco Fish Farm. Maxine attended Harvest Christian Fellowship, was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, enjoyed fishing, quilting, gardening and canning. She enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Tonda (Lonnie) Gosnell, and Tracy (Bob) Heessel , all of Maxwell; four grandchildren, Brandon (Ane) Gosnell, Londa (Andy) Seamann, all of Maxwell, Chelsea (Chris) Schmeeckle of Lincoln, and Kadin (Roxie) Heessel of Maxwell; a step grandson, Nathan Heessel of Maxwell; 3 great-grandchildren, Marlee and Baylee Seamann and Andrew Schmeeckle; and 2 step-grandchildren, Wyatt and Owen Heessel; a brother Glen Beeson of Texas, and numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a daughter and son-in-law, Trudy and Glen French; a granddaughter, Rhonna French, and 6 brothers; and 5 sisters.
A memorial has been established to Great Plains Hospice and online condolences can be made at www.adamsswanson.com.
Service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday September 15, 2015 at the Harvest Christian Fellowship with Pastor Jacob Rahrig officiating. Burial will be at Plainview Cemetery near Maxwell. Visitation will be Monday from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home, which is charge of arrangements.
