Nebraska’s Terrell Newby Big Ten co-offensive player of week

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska I-back Terrell Newby is the Big Ten’s co-offensive player of the week.

The junior from Los Angeles established career highs with 28 carries for 198 yards in Saturday’s 48-9 win over South Alabama. He also ran for two touchdowns and caught a pass for another score.

He topped his previous career high of 107 rushing yards in the first half alone, totaling 118 yards in the opening 30 minutes.

Newby shared the Big Ten honor with Iowa quarterback C.J. Beathard.
