Looking to secure their positions in the final point standings, many racers were able to enhance their positions by their performance during the 2015 Championship Night of racing action held at Lincoln County Raceway in North Platte, Nebraska on Saturday.

Finishing their season with a trip to the winners circle by winning the feature events on Saturday were: Dave Pederson, Chad Dolan, Casey Werkmeister, Jacob Olmstead and Jordan Biere.

Leading from the drop of the green flag until the checkered flag was waved was Brady hotshoe Dave Pederson to claim the win in the IMCA Modified Feature. Pederson was able to jump to the point from his front row starting position and he never looked back. Also starting on the front row was the runner-up Jeremy Herbst of North Platte. Working his way into position to finish on the podium was Ogallala’s Cole Hodges in third place overall. Pederson was joined by veteran driver Chuck Stryker of Eddyville in winning heat races.

Working his way through traffic, Chad Dolan of Gibbon was able to snare the lead on the ninth lap and cruise to the IMCA Northern Sport Modified Feature victory. Looking to work his way into contention for the lead behind Dolan was Gothenburg’s Jamey Kennicutt. Kennicutt came from deep in the field to earn the runner-up honors in the feature event. Veteran wheelman Gary Long of Valentine started in the lead pack and never relinquished his spot in the lead pack to earn a third place finish. Dolan, Kennicutt and Dillon Schultz of North Platte all earned heat race wins on Saturday.

The racing action was very competitive throughout the feature event for the IMCA Stock Car division with Casey Werkmeister of Maywood being the victor when all the smoke cleared. Werkmeister was able to grab the lead on the final seven laps to earn the win. Finishing second overall was Mikey Dancer of North Platte. Dancer was the lead on lap two through four and then led again from lap six past the midway point of the feature.

Dancer was still ‘elbows up’ to earn second place accolades. Flyin’ Farmer Kyle Clough of Wallace was the third place finisher after working his way through traffic to earn the podium finish. Werkmeister and Farnam’s Sara Klein won earlier in the evening heat races in the division.

Wasting no time to manage traffic and drive to the lead was Jacob Olmstead of Overton during the Hobby Stock feature event. Olmstead powered into the lead on the third lap and rolled to the feature victory. Showing consistency throughout the feature event, Zach Olmstead of Overton finished second overall. Making his first appearance to Lincoln County Raceway for the 2015 season, Shawn Slezak of Milligan earned a third place finish. Jacob Olmstead and Tanner Jones of North Platte earned heat race wins earlier in the evening.

Grabbing the lead near the midway point of the feature event was Jordan Biere of North Platte, as he was then able to hold off all challenges to win the IMCA Sport Compact feature event. Staying up on the wheel and racing onto the podium was North Platte’s Andrew Baumgardner to finish second overall. Alex Fletcher of Hershey drove his Chevy Cavalier to a third place finish during the final regular season night of racing action. Biere also won the heat race in the division earlier in the evening.
