A restaurant that was always hopping at lunchtime, on prom night and many other nights has closed its doors in North Platte.

Employees at The Depot, 520 North Jeffers Street, were told last Wednesday that the restaurant would be closing.

The Post has not been able to confirm a reason, other than it was for personal reasons with the ownership.

The Depot is owned by Deb and David McNew, and was also the home of The Rail bar, which provided live entertainment and adult beverages.

The restaurant also served as a meeting place for numerous clubs and organizations.

The restaurant was badly damaged in an August storm that raged through North Platte, but was soon reopened for business.

Sources say the property will most likely be sold.

The Post will bring you more information on this story when it becomes available.
