Kenneth Eugene Favinger, 81 of North Platte passed away October 4, 2015 at the North Platte Care Center. He was born September 30, 1934 in Wallace to Victor and Daisy Favinger.
He attended school in North Platte before entering the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict. He married Joyce and to this union two children were born, Debra and Kenny. He went to meat cutting school in Toledo, Ohio. On October 22, 1966 in North Platte he married Bonnie Holm. The couple had two children, Tammy and Sue. They resided in North Platte where he worked for Safeway, then 6th Street as a butcher, retiring in 1996.
Kenneth was a member of the VFW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and following sporting events. He loved his dog Maggie, with whom he spent much time.
Survivors include children, Kenny Favinger of Idaho, Tammy (Jeff) Dugger, and Sue (Dirk) Higgins all of North Platte; step-children, Dewayne “Red” (Kathy) Christensen of Idaho, Larry (Cindy) Christensen of Wallace, and Jean (Dick) Edelman of North Platte; grandchildren, Heather Shull, Heidi Schull,Kenny (Samantha) Favinger, Kevin Favinger, Joe Favinger, and Jennifer (Ryan) Greeley; step-grandchildren, Cad (Darlene) Christensen, Candein (Frank) Chariez, Sarah (Jeff) Shamblin, Mark (Lisa) Christensen, Brett (Adrienne) Christensen, Shawn Christensen, Bill (Tabitha) Edelman, and Jana Cox; brother, Lewey Sukraw of Maxwell; and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie; daughter, Debra Shull; brother, Lawrence; half-sister, Shirley Seaton; and step-son, Robert Christensen.

Graveside Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Dr. Douglas Delp officiating. Cremation was chosen. Those wishing to sign the register book may do so from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Thursday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
