Some Lincoln Bars Report Influx of Fake IDs

lincoln-policeLINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Lincoln bar managers say they’re seeing an influx of fake identification cards this year.

Police have only received a few formal reports, but some bar managers say they’ve confiscated more this year than in the past.

Lincoln Police Chief Jim Peschong says he knows bar employees don’t call police every time they spot one. Bar managers say that in many cases, youths with a fake identification flee when confronted.

Adam Holle, the manager at The Brass Rail in downtown Lincoln, says the problem is bigger than most people think.

John Potts, general manager at the N Street Drive In liquor store, says he’s identified 14 fake IDs this school year, more than he can remember in previous years.
