FREMONT, Neb. (AP) — A Dodge man who pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl has been sentenced to decades in prison.

28-year-old Henry Carstens was sentenced Monday in Dodge County District Court to 48 to 50 years in prison for first-degree sexual assault of a child. Under Nebraska’s so-called good-time law, Carstens must serve a minimum of 24 years in prison.

He must also register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.

Prosecutors say Carstens raped the girl — the daughter of a family friend — more than 10 times in a two-month period.
