NPCC Lady Knights Volleyball to Host Southeast

southeastThe North Platte Community College Lady Knights Volleyball team will host the Southeast Community College Lady Storm Wednesday night October 7 at the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium at 6 pm.

The match is an important match in the seeding for the upcoming National Junior College Athletic Association Region IX Division II tournament which will be held in North Platte October 30-31 Currently Southeast is the second seed in the tournament.  The Lady Storm defeated the Lady Knights in Beatrice on September 24, three sets to zero.  Central Community College is the number one seed.

The Lady Knights are 9-15 on the season and 0-2 in Region IX play.  They are on a two match winning streak, having defeated #14 ranked Northeast Community College and McCook Community College.

The Lady Knights are led in kills by Valerie Most.  Most has 234 kills and a .196 kill efficiency.  Jessica Lovitt leads the Lady Knights in kill efficiency at .206 and 122 kills.  MaKenna Ketter has 218 kills and a .202 kill efficiency.

Megan Chintala has 395 defensive digs to lead the Lady Knights.  Aryn Meisinger leads in services aces with 48, which is 16th in the nation in Division II.  The Lady Knights as a team are 20th in the nation in that category.

The Lady Storm come into the match with a 9-13 record and 1-1 in Region IX play.

They are led in kills by Amara Meeks with 210 kills.  Meeks has a .228 kill efficiency.  Grace Hoflen leads the Lady Storm in kill efficiency at .230 with 96 kills.  Abbey Humlicek has 238 defensive digs and Sydni Lee has 64 total Stuff blocks to lead in those categories

The match  is designated as “Mentoring Night” and “Volleyball Uniform Night’.  All high school volleyball players wearing their volleyball jerseys will be admitted into the game free.  All mentors and mentees will also be admitted free and information about the various mentoring programs in the surrounding communities will be available.

The match will also be broadcast on ESPN 1410 radio and on the Internet at www.northplattepost.com.  It will also be live streamed on www.coachesaid.com.
