OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Police say an Omaha police officer was injured in an altercation with a man outside a north Omaha gas station and that the suspect has been arrested.
Police say the officer responded to a disturbance at the gas station Wednesday night and confronted a man there. Police say the man hit the officer, knocking him to the ground.
The officer briefly lost consciousness and suffered a bloody nose and mouth. He was able to tell other officers who arrived to help the name of the suspect.
Police say 31-year-old Chaz Hill has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting an officer. Hill remained jailed Thursday and could not be reached for comment.
