Karl E. Fair, 82, of Mesa, AZ, formerly of North Platte, NE, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2015, in Mesa.

Karl was born December 23, 1932, to Lawrence and Mildred Clay Fair in Broken Bow, NE where he grew up and attended school. Karl enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1952 and served in the Korean War.

Karl received an honorable discharge in 1956 then moved to North Platte. He was baptized on February 14, 1959, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Karl was united in marriage to Donna Miller on December 24, 1959, in North Platte, and they had two children, Donald and Desirae.

Karl worked for Armour & Company as a lugger for approximately 10 years. He later owned and operated K & D Motors and the Yamaha Motorcycle Dealership, and had the first Toyota Car Franchise, all in North Platte. Karl also did commercial mowing and owned and operated Old Ranch Concessions out of Oklahoma City. He loved to travel and race motorcycles.

Karl later moved to Mesa and entered an assisted living facility in 2013.

He is survived by his children, Don Fair, of North Platte and Desirae Trotter, of Scottsdale, AZ, and their mother, Donna Fair, of North Platte; brothers, Leland Fair, Don Fair and Henry ‘Ward’ Fair; two sisters, Elaine Eberhart and Betty Peterson; and many nieces, nephews and other family.

Karl was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Mildred; brother, Max; and two sisters, Letha and Rose.

Cremation was chosen. A graveside memorial service with military honors will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2015, in Fort McPherson National Cemetery with Pastor Bob Deardoff officiating. A lunch will follow at the VFW in North Platte. The memorial book may be signed at odeanchapel.com or on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore. Memorials are suggested to the V.F.W. Post #1504. Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
