Lancaster County Collision Between SUV, Grain Truck Results in Fatality

lancaster-county-sheriffLINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — One person has died in a two-vehicle accident after and grain truck and a Hummer H2 collided and erupted into flames.

Police and fire crews arrived on the scene near Nebraska Highway 2 in Lancaster County shortly after the initial accident around 6 p.m. Thursday.

Both vehicles were traveling west on Highway 2 when the Hummer ran into the back of the grain truck.

The driver of the Hummer died at the scene, and the driver of the grain truck has been taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Lancaster county sheriff’s Capt. Ben Houchin did not say whether the Hummer had any passengers.

The Sheriff’s Office says the grain truck was driving well under the speed limit before the crash.
