2 Men Caught Burglarizing NP Home

Two North Platte man are in jail on burglary charges after police caught them burglarizing a home.

At around 11:32 pm, on November 18, officers from the North Platte Police Department responded to the report of a burglary in progress in the 600 block of East 9th Street.  A neighbor contacted police after they thought they heard someone breaking into the house.

Police arrived and made contact with two suspects, Michael Davis and David Wehtje, who were standing near a car parked behind the residence.

Officers investigated and discovered that the duo had forced their way into the residence, then ransacked it and took items belonging to the victim.

According to police, items from the residence were found inside the vehicle Davis and Wehtje were standing by.

It was determined that there was probable cause to arrest both men for felony burglary.

They were transported to the Lincoln County Detention Center and jailed.
