Man Sentenced for Attempted Arson at Lincoln Apartments

arsonLINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — A 37-year-old man has been given jail time and probation for assaulting another inmate and for attempting to set fire to a Lincoln apartment complex.

Online court records say Alaric Harden was sentenced on Tuesday in Lancaster County District Court. He’d pleaded no contest to charges of assault and of attempted arson after prosecutors lowered the original charges.

Authorities say Harden tried to set fire to the complex on July 26 and say Harden assaulted another jail inmate on Aug. 24, while awaiting prosecution on the arson charge.

Harden was given credit for 121 days he’s already served behind bars.
