Nebraska makes its only road trip of the month of December on Wednesday, making the 58.5 mile trek from Lincoln to take on the Creighton Bluejays.
Tipoff from CenturyLink Center in Omaha is slated for 7:05 p.m., and the annual matchup between the Huskers and Bluejays will be televised on the CBS Sports Network (Ch. 221-DirecTV; Ch. 158-DISH; Ch. 315 & 1322-TWC Nebraska; Ch. 234 & 1234-Cox Cable). Wednesday’s game will not be available online.
Wednesday’s will also air across the state on the Husker Sports Network, including KLIN 1400 AM in Lincoln, KXSP 590 AM in Omaha and KRVN 880 in Lexington and is available on Huskers.com and the Huskers App with the broadcast beginning with a 60-minute pregame show.
The Huskers are 6-3 on the season following a 73-63 win over Abilene Christian on Saturday at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Nebraska received a career-high 30 points from junior Andrew White III and 21 from Shavon Shields, as the Huskers extended a two-point halftime lead in the second half. White keyed the second-half run, scoring seven of his points in a 9-2 spurt to extend the lead to double figures. NU forced 20 turnovers, leading directly to 25 Husker points.
White, who is in his first year after spending two seasons at Kansas, and Shields, a fourth-year starter, have formed an effective combo for the Huskers. The pair combines for over 32 points and 10 rebounds per game, allowing a youthful roster to provide support.
Nebraska, which returned two starters and five letterwinners from last year, has been solid offensively, averaging nearly 76 points per game while facing a schedule which has included a trio of ranked teams including ninth-ranked Villanova.
Creighton (5-3) looks to bounce back after a pair of losses to Arizona State and Loyola (Chicago) last week. The Bluejays, who have won four straight in the series, feature an offense which has five players averaging double figures led by Cole Huff’s 12.4 ppg.
