Jensen Leads Three Husker Placers in Bob Smith Open

Hays, Kan. – Junior Collin Jensen captured the heavyweight title and two additional Huskers earned podium spots in the Bob Smith Open at Gross Memorial Coliseum on Sunday, Dec. 6.

No. 18 Anthony Abidin collected a third-place finish at 141 pounds, while Patrick Grayson, wrestling unattached, took third at heavyweight. Collin Purinton (141 – unattached) and Mitchell Maginnis (125 – unattached) also competed in the Bob Smith Open.

Jensen, the 18th-ranked wrestler at heavyweight by InterMat, tallied four pins and one major decision on his way to a 5-0 performance. All five of Abidin’s wins were in bonus-point fashion, as he earned three pins, one technical fall and one major decision in the tournament.
