The North Platte Community College Knights defeated the Eastern Wyoming College Lancers 99-73 on Saturday afternoon in a National Junior College Athletic Association Region IX South Sub-Region game.
The Knights got off to a quick start jumping out to an 18-3 lead and never looked back. They increased their lead to 32-7 with 7:46 to play in the first half.
The Knights never trailed in the game and led at halftime 50-27.
The second half was a little closer as the Knights outscored the Lancers 49-46 in the second half.
The Knights, who are now 8-5 on the season and 2-2 in South Sub-Region play. Jordan Mills was one five Knights to score in double figures and led with 20 points. Diontae Champion was next with 18 points. Tim Wagner and Leito Holloway each had 17 points and David Ramon had 14 points. Ramon and Champion each had nine rebounds for the Knights. Wagner had seven assists.
The Lancers are 6-9 on the season and 1-4 in South Sub-Region play. They were led in scoring by Tyler Owens with 20 points. Dashawn Benson added 12 points and Grant Olsson finished with 10 points.
The Knights are next in action on January 7 when they face Northwest Kansas Technical College at the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium at 7 pm.
