Robert (Bobby) Earl Pitner

pitner

Robert(Bobby) Earl Pitner 70, of North Platte, NE passed away Friday, December 10.
Bobby was born February 3rd, 1945 to Wilbur Earl Pitner and Margaret Pitner (Leer) in Omaha, NE. He grew up in the Benson area of Omaha with his parents and sister, Doris. He was in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and graduated from Benson High School. Shortly after high school he hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad. He worked his way up to Car Foreman and retired from the railroad after 43 years of service. Bobby met the love of his life, Margaret Camenzind early in his twenties. Bobby and Margaret were married October 17th, 1970 in Omaha. Bobby and Margaret were blessed with four children, April, Eric, Tony, and Robby. In 1991 Bobby was transferred to Bailey Yard in North Platte, where he and his family have made their home ever since.
Second only to Bobby’s love for his wife, children, and grandchildren was his love for animals, especially his dogs. He also enjoyed spending time maintaining contact with friends on his computer. We may never know if Bobby made it to 10,000 friends on facebook, but the outpouring of support and contact from those he knew shows that he had a positive influence on many people’s lives. Bobby was never without a comment or a joke or tale of one of his adventures to spark discussion.
Bobby is survived by his wife Margaret, his children, April Pitner and fiance’ Dave Hovden, Eric and Dawn Piner, Tony and Dawn Pitner, and Robby and Terri Pitner, all of North Platte, his grandchildren Austin, Alexis, and Patrick Hoshor all of Omaha, Kennedy Pitner, Tristan and Trinity Pitner, and Brody and Adeline Pitner. He is also survived by his sister, Doris and Charles McDonnell of Omaha, NE, cousins, and other relatives.
