Mary Ann McKenzie, 75 passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015, at Highland Park Care Center in Alliance surrounded by family.
She was born June 9, 1940 in Peoria, Oklahoma to Jim and Laura (Reber) Jimerson.
On August 31, 1958, she was united in marriage to Lawton Earl (Bill) McKenzie. Together, they had three daughters. They raised their family in Greeley, CO until they moved to Seneca, NE in 1979. Mary and Bill bought and ran the [UTF-8?]Cattleman’s Bar & Café until they sold it in 1986. They greatly loved to trap shoot where they won numerous trophies along the way and met many friends. They moved to Alliance, NE in 2001 due to [UTF-8?]Bill’s medical issues.
Mary loved visiting with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed her friends at Crossroads Assisted Living (Alliance) where she had lived the past eight years before moving to Highland Park Care Center in October 2015. She enjoyed talking on the telephone, watching her favorite shows and Lifetime movies, and going on her yearly sister trips.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Felishia (Roger) Hoagland of Alliance, Melba Harding of Cozad, and Bobbie (Jess) Licking of Seneca, her step-son JD (Deb) McKenzie of Ft Collins, CO, nine grandchildren: Lori, Christy, Misty, Amy, Michelle, Adrienne, Katie, Kellie, and Levi, and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Betty Harbor of Cheney, Kansas, Pauline (Richard) Farmer of Bedford, Texas, and Bobbie (Fred) Wilson of Greeley, Colorado and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary is proceeded in death by her husband Bill, her brother, and two sisters.
There will be a viewing with family present on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 4-7 pm at the Mullen Funeral Home. Services will be Monday, December 21, 2015 at 10am MST at the Mullen Funeral Home with burial in the Seneca Cemetery immediately following.
