The North Platte Community College Knights will host the Northwest Kansas Technical College Mavericks on January 7 at the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium at 7:00 pm.
The Knights defeated the Mavericks on November 30 in Goodland, Kansas 83-81. The Knights are 4-1 against the Mavericks during Coach Kevin O’Connor’s tenure.
The Mavericks are 10-7 on the season. They are led in scoring by sophomore Montrell Williams with 19.4 points per game. Broderick Robinson is next at 13.5 points per game and Darius Freeman contributes 11.1 points per game. Mark Dean leads the Mavericks in rebounding at 5.2 rebounds per game.
The Knights are 8-5 on the season and playing their first game after the break. The Knights have two players scoring in double figures led by Tim Wagner. The sophomore from Galesville, Wis. is averaging 18.4 points per game. Diontae Champion is averaging 17.5 points per game. Tyree Peter leads the Knights in rebounding with 8.8 rebounds per game.
