Mildred Irene Maire, 97, of Litzenberrg Long Term Care of Central City, Nebraska, departed this life January 6, 2016. Mildred was born to Harry and Laura (Moran) Romell in Ames, Kansas, on January 21, 1918. She attended school in Whitman, NE, Hecla, NE and Mullen, NE.

She married Jack Maire November 3, 1933 and to this union were born four children, Johnnie, Robert, Peggy and Jim.

She worked at various places during her life: Pioneer Memorial Resthome for sixteen years and ran a mail route south of Mullen six days a week for twenty-three and one half years. She also drove a school bus route from 1947 to 1978.

Preceding her in death were her Husband, Jack, son, Johnnie and daughter-in-law Velma; her parents, Harry and Laura Romell, and four brothers, John, Fred, Howard and Dean.

Mildred leaves her children, Robert (Pat) Maire of Plymouth, NE, Peggy (Carl) Simonson of Hordvile, NE, Jim (Sue) Maire of Omaha, NE; one sister, Edyth (Edon) Schomp and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be Monday, January 11, 2016, at 10:00 am MST at the Assembly of God Church in Mullen, NE, with Reverend Luke Storer. Visitation will be Sunday, 1:00 to 7:00 pm MST at the Mullen Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedarview Cemetery, Mullen, NE.
