North Platte Community College Lady Knight’s Head Volleyball Coach Alexa Hopping signed the first two players of her 2016 recruiting class, they are Brooklyn Krehmeyer from Weldon, Colo and Antonya Schaffert from Otis, Colo.
Krehmeyer is a 5’ 10” outside hitter. She played her high school volleyball for the Weldon Valley High School Warriors. The Warriors qualified for the Colorado State Volleyball tournament during her senior season and went 23-6 on the season.

Hopping said, “Brooklyn will bring some height and versatility to the outside position. She is a solid passer and has been successful in a couple different positions. She is also a competitor and I feel like she will be a good fit for the Lady Knights Volleyball team.”
Schaffert , a 5’ 6” outside hitter, played for former Lady Knight Bonnie Wallin-Kuntz on the Otis High School Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Bulldogs were the 2015 Colorado 1A State Champions and finished 27-1.
Schaffert played four years for the Lady Bulldogs, playing in 351 sets. During her career, she had 1243 kills, 67 blocks, 1777 digs and 214 service aces.
Hopping said, “Antonya is a very solid player. She passes the ball really well and she will be an outside or a defensive specialist for us. She is going to add depth to that position. She comes from a successful program and knows how to win. She will definitely be an asset to our team.”
Krehmeyer and Schaffert were selected to the Colorado 1A Volleyball All-State First Team.
