The North Platte Community College Knights basketball team will travel to Cheyenne, Wyo. to face the Laramie County Community College Golden Eagles on January 8 at 8:00 pm CST.

The game is a National Junior College Athletic Association Region IX South Sub-region contest.

The Golden Eagles are 10-6 on the season and 2-2 in South Sub-region play.  They average 79.7 points per game while giving up 69.2 points per game.

Laramie County is led in scoring by Gavin Peppers with a 16 points per game average.  Iziah Sherman-Newsome is averaging 10.7 points per game and Josh McNair averages 10.5 per game.  Micheal Obindu is averaging 4.4 rebounds per game.

The Knights are 8-6 on the season and 2-2 in South Sub-region play, averaging 88.1 points per game and giving up 75.3 points per game.

Tim Wagner leads the Knights with 18.4 points per game and 4.4 assists per game.  Diontae Champion is the only other Knight scoring in double figures with a 17.5 points per game average.  Tyree Peter leads the Knights in rebounding with 8.8 rebounds per game.

Knight’s Head Coach Kevin O’Connor is 23-14 against the Golden Eagles.
