North Platte – The North Platte Community College Knights men’s and women’s basketball teams travel to Beatrice to face the Southeast Community College Storm on Friday, January 22.

On the women’s side, the game is a National Junior College Athletic Association Region IX Division II and a Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference matchup.

The Lady Storm are 9-8 on the season. This is their first Region IX Division II game.  They average 69.9 points per game and allow 72 ppg.

Jayla Brown leads the Lady Storm in scoring with 13.4 ppg.  The only other player to average in double figures is Shanae Collins at 10.3 ppg.  Veshae Wilkinson leads in rebounding at 8.2 rebounds per game.

The Lady Knights are 7-7 and 0-1 in Division II play. The Lady Knights average 64.4 ppg and allow 64.6 ppg.

Sarah Mahr leads the Lady Knights in scoring at 15.3 ppg.  Suhmer Mitchell is averaging 12.1 ppg.

On the men’s side, it is only a NCCAC game.

The Storm is 7-8 and 0-1 in the conference.  Southeast is scoring 78.3 ppg, while allowing 73.7.

The Storm has three players scoring in double figures for the season led by Snyder Cenecharles at 16.1 points per game. Daniel William is next at 12.1 ppg and Taylor Britt is at 10 ppg.  Cenecharles also is averaging 5.4 rebounds per game.

The Knights are 10-8 on the season and 1-0 in NCCAC play.  The Knights are averaging 86.1 ppg and 77.7 points allowed per game.

Tim Wagner leads the Knights in scoring with a 16.6 scoring average.  Diontae Champion is next with 15.3 ppg.  Leito Holloway and Tyree Peter are also averaging double digits in scoring at 10.7 and 10.0 ppg respectively.  Peter is averaging 9.2 rebounds per game and has six double-doubles on the season.

Tip-off for the women’s game is at 5 pm and the men’s game to follow approximately at 7 pm CST.
