NPCC Knights Basketball Travel to Lamar

npcc lamarNorth Platte – The North Platte Community College Knights basketball team travels to Lamar Colo. to take on the Lamar Community College Runnin’ Lopes on Friday January 29, 2016.  The matchup is important in the National Junior College Athletic Association Region IX South Sub-Region standings.

The Runnin’ Lopes are 12-8 overall and 3-4 in the South Sub-Region.  The Runnin’ Lopes average 88.2 points per game, while allowing 68.6 ppg.

Jiere Morrisey leads four Runnin’ Lopes in double figures, scoring 14.7 ppg. Jon Dunmyer is next at 13.8 ppg, followed by Wayne Stewart at 11.6 ppg.  Chris Lewis is the final Runnin’ Lope to score in double figures at 10.2 ppg.  Lewis also leads the Runnin’ Lopes at 7.7 rebounds per game.

The Knights are 13-8 overall and 5-4 in the South Sub-Region, which is third behind Otero (8-0) and Laramie County (6-4).  The Knights average 86.5 ppg and allow 72.5 ppg.

The Knights also have four players in double figures led by Tim Wagner at 15.9 ppg. Diontae Champion is second in scoring at 14.6 ppg.  Tyree Peter is next at 10.6 ppg and Leito Holloway is at 10.5 ppg.  Peter also leads the Knights at 9.8 rebounds per game and has nine double doubles.

The Knights defeated the Runnin’ Lopes earlier this season 73-66 and hold a 21-16 all-time advantage in the series.
