Lamar, Colo. – The North Platte Community College Knights basketball team lost on the road to the Lamar Community College Runnin’ Lopes 79-75 in an important National Junior College Athletic Association Region IX South Sub-Region contest.
The Knights jumped out to a 14-9 lead and led at halftime 38-36.
The Runnin’ Lopes took a 48-41 lead in the second half and outscored the Knights 43-37 in the second half for the victory.
The Knights are now 13-9 overall and 5-5 in the South Sub-Region. Jordan Mills led the Knight’s scoring with 18 points. Tim Wagner followed with 16 points and Victor Lewis finished with 11 points. Tyree Peter led the Knights with 15 rebounds.
The Runnin’ Lopes improved to 13-8 and 4-4 in the sub-region. Jon Dunmyer led all scorers with 25 points. Taylor Shepherd ended with 17 points. Mike Skinner had 16 points and Chris Lewis had 13 points. Lewis also had nine rebounds.
The Knights have a week off and return home to play Eastern Wyoming on Saturday, Feb. 6, tip-off is at 7:30 pm CST. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN Radio 1410.
