North Platte —The North Platte Community College Knights basketball defeated the Southeast Community College Storm 76-66 at the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium on Friday night.
The Knights started out sluggish in the game leading 20-15 with eight minutes to go in the first half. There were five lead changes in the first 12 minutes of the game.
The Knights held a 34-29 lead going into halftime. In the first half the Knights shot 11 for 29 from the field for a percentage of 38 percent.
The Knights led for the rest of the game. The Storm did cut the lead down to two at 55-53 with just under seven minutes to go in the game. The Knights then went on an 11-4 run to make the score 66-57.
The largest lead for the Knights was 13 at 76-63.
The Knights improve to 17-9 and 4-0 in the Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference. Jordan Mills led the Knights in scoring with 19 points. Leito Holloway added 18 points. Tyree Peter continued his dominance on the boards grabbing 13 rebounds.
The Storm fall to 10-12 on the season. Logan Dorn came off the bench to score 17 points. Snyder Cenecharles finished with 10 points.
