NPCC Knights Softball Lose Two Against McCook

npcc softballMcCook – The North Platte Community College Knights softball team lost both games of a doubleheader to the McCook Community College Lady Indians 10-0 and 11-3 at the Jaycees Sports Complex on Tuesday afternoon.

In the first game the Lady Indians struck first by scoring three runs in the bottom of the first to jump out to a 3-0 lead.

In the bottom of the third, the Lady Indians added two more runs to increase their lead to 5-0.

With the score at 7-0 and the bases loaded, the Lady Indians Linsey Fishman drove in three runs with a double to give the Lady Indians a 10-0 victory.

Robin Harrison went the distance and picked up the win for the Lady Indians.  Sara Villalobos took the loss for the Knights.

In the second game, the Knights got on the board in the top of the first by scoring two runs on a double by Villalobos.

The Lady Indians answered back by scoring five in the bottom of the first and added a run in the second to make the score 6-2.

Makenzi DeCrow scored in the fourth Inning on a throwing error by the Lady Indian third baseman Mackenzie Bilger to cut the Lady Indian lead to 6-3.

In the Lady Indians half of the fourth Kendall Yasui started the inning with a triple and later scored.  The Lady Indians put three runs across to increase their lead to 9-3.

The Lady Indians pushed across two runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game 11-3.

The Knights drop to 12-23 on the season and 5-3 in NCCAC play.  The Lady Indians improve to 22-16 and 5-1 in NCCAC play.

The Knights will face Central Community College on Friday, April 8 in a Region IX Division II contest at the Wayne A. Dowhower Softball Complex.  Game times are at 3 pm and 5 pm CDT.
