Traffic Stop Near Maxwell Nets Nearly 28 Pounds of Pot

A traffic stop on Interstate 80 near Maxwell, in Lincoln County, led to the seizure of nearly 28 lbs. of marijuana and one arrest.

Just before 3:00 p.m., Monday, April 11, a trooper stopped an eastbound 2003 Ford Excursion for failure to signal a lane change. The driver and lone occupant of the SUV produced a small amount of personal use marijuana. A probable cause search of the vehicle led to the seizure of 27.8 lbs. of marijuana. The marijuana was contained in 26 individual packages in two duffel bags in the rear of the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, Laurence J. Boeger, 73, of Lincoln, Calif., was lodged in the Lincoln County Detention Center on a charge of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver.
