OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Omaha police say a man returning from work found his 6-month-old child unconscious in a bathtub.

Officers were sent to Creighton University Medical Center around 11:45 p.m. Sunday to investigate because the child had been taken there in a private vehicle. Police say the infant later was taken to Children’s Hospital & Medical Center and is on life support there.

The father told officers that while he was at work the infant and a 2-year-old were under the care of a woman. Police say she was taken into custody on suspicion of child abuse or neglect.
