LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska track and field team turned in some highlight performances at the Nebraska Invitational on Saturday at Ed Weir Stadium, one week before hosting the Big Ten Outdoor Championships.

Nick Percy broke his own hammer throw school record by throwing 222-7 (67.85m). His new best ranks 14th in the nation this season and No. 3 in the Big Ten.

“It was a bit of a surprise,” Percy said. “I didn’t expect it after moving out of the dorms the last couple of days. It’s kind of nice to know going into Big Tens next week that I have another PR in the bag and that I can have a big throw next week.”

Percy also won the discus, throwing 193-10 (59.08m), while Carlos Davis (185-5) and Khalil Davis (184-4) climbed to Nos. 4 and 6 in the Big Ten rankings with personal-best throws.

Paula Andrie set a personal best in the pole vault to win the event, clearing 14-0 (4.27m). Her mark moves her to No. 3 on the all-time Husker charts and third in the Big Ten this season.

“T.J. (Pierce) beforehand said, ‘You’ve been working up to this for three years, and this is your time to make it,'” Andrie said. “So I just said I was going to throw my nerves out and go after it and whatever happens, happens. It ended up being the right pole, the right jump, the right day.”

Malcolm White highlighted the running events with a blazing time of 10.20, which puts him No. 1 in the Big Ten and No. 11 nationally. White’s time also ranks second in NU outdoor history, behind only Chris Chandler’s 10.16 in 2000.

Tierra Williams won the long jump with a new personal-best 21-1 1/2 (6.44m), good for No. 6 in NU history and tied for 12th in the nation this season. Williams also matched her personal best in the triple jump, 43-9 3/4 (13.35m), to win that event.

Steven Cahoy won the pole vault by clearing 17-1 1/2 (5.22m) to become the leader in the Big Ten heading into the conference meet. Elijah Lucy set a personal best in the long jump, 24-7 (7.49m), to take the event title.

Karolina Pahlitzsch won the 400m hurdles with the 10th-fastest time in NU history, 58.71, and moved to No. 6 in the Big Ten. Cody Rush clocked in at 20.98 in the 200m, his fastest time this season and No. 8 in the Big Ten. Jasmine Barge’s wind-legal 13.51 in the 100m hurdles moved her to No. 10 on the all-time chart.
