Omaha house fire injures 1 man, 2 firefighters on Tuesday

OMAHA-FIRE-AND-RESCUE-BADGEOMAHA, Neb. (AP) — A house fire has led to minor injuries for three people, including two Omaha firefighters.

Officials say the fire occurred Tuesday morning just north of 120th and Blondo Streets in northwest Omaha.

Responding firefighters reported heavy smoke and flames when they arrived at the one-story home just after 7 a.m.

Battalion Chief Tim McCaw says four adults and one child escaped from the blaze after a neighbor called 911 and knocked on the door of the burning home to alert the occupants.

McCaw says an elderly man was treated for smoke inhalation. A firefighter also twisted an ankle while fighting the fire inside the home, and other firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion.
