North Platte Seniors season ends with 6-4 loss at district tournament

np first nationalsThe North Platte First Nationals senior legion had their season come to an end with a 6-4 loss to Hastings on Tuesday night at Duncan Field in Hastings.

Hastings scored at least one run in each of the first four innings en route to a 5-1 lead going to the bottom of the fourth. North Platte had their big inning in the fourth with three runs scoring on three hits to pull within one, 5-4. North Platte could only scatter three more hits in the remaining five innings, while Hastings added an insurance run in the sixth to win 6-4.

Kade Wroot was stuck with the loss on the mound after going six innings and allowing five earned runs on 11 hits. Gabe Vyzourek and Cole Joneson each had two hits at the plate.

The loss for North Platte ended their season at 29-8. Hastings fell in the 7 pm game against Kearney 5-0, both Kearney and Hastings will advance to Norfolk and Omaha Skutt respectively for state tournaments this weekend.
