LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nate Rohr has been named the public address announcer at Memorial Stadium for Nebraska football games this season.
Rohr’s hiring was announced Wednesday on the Husker Sports Network’s “Sports Nightly” radio show.
Rohr graduated from Nebraska in 2009 with a degree in broadcasting and has been the radio play-by-play announcer for Nebraska softball for 12 seasons. Rohr has worked nine seasons as the spotter and statistician on Nebraska football radio broadcasts.
The Beatrice native has worked as public address announcer for several Nebraska sports in addition to his duties with the Husker Sports Network.
Rohr replaces Lane Grindle, who was football PA announcer for one season before taking a broadcasting job with the Milwaukee Brewers.
