Authorities ID woman killed in Douglas County crash

douglas-county-sheriffOMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Authorities have identified a woman killed when a motorcycle she was on collided with a semitrailer in western Douglas County.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says 18-year-old Madeline Fitzpatrick was riding on the motorcycle, operated by 36-year-old Jason Matthews, that collided with the semi Tuesday evening at the intersection of Highway 92 and 264th Street.

Investigators say Fitzpatrick was pronounced dead at the scene. Matthews was flown to an Omaha hospital in critical condition.

The sheriff’s office says the truck driver, 47-year-old Michael Green, wasn’t injured.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
