Several new exhibits are planned for this year’s state fair

state-fair-genericGRAND ISLAND, Neb. (AP) — Several new exhibits are planned for this year’s Nebraska State Fair to teach visitors more about the state’s crops and soil.

The exhibits continue to grow at the fairgrounds in Grand Island that first opened in 2010. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has built a new elevated sky fort, and a new exhibit of different soil types has been added.

The Commission’s Christy Rasmussen says the wooden fort will remind people of a tree house.

Another new exhibit will display four different soil types found in Nebraska. And several new crops that are grown in the state have been planted at the fairgrounds.

This year’s state fair runs from Aug. 26 through Sept. 5.
