Sterling, Colo. – The North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team lost their season opener three sets to one to the Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen on Wednesday.
Lady Knights Head Coach Alexa McCall said, βI thought we battled really well tonight. We had some good times and then struggled at times. We really hurt ourselves with so many missed serves and errors on our side.β
Sophomore Josie Palmer, from Brady, led the Lady Knights in kills with 13. Freshman Aly Camacho, from Scottsbluff contributed with eight kills.
Shelby Wolever, from Brush, Colo., led the Lady Knights with nine set assists, and freshman Madi Gilg, from Gothenburg, added eight.
Megan Chintala, a sophomore from Fleming, Colo., led the Lady Knights with 12 defensive digs.
βIt was a good start for us against a good team and I’m excited to see how we respond this weekend,β McCall said.
The Lady Knights open their home portion of the schedule when they host the Subway Classic on Aug. 26-27.
NPCC falls to 0-1 on the season.
