NPCC Lady Knights volleyball to play in McCook Invite

npcc mcc inviteNorth Platte – The North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team will travel to McCook on Friday, Sep 2 to compete in the McCook Invitational.

They will play three matches starting at 11 am when they play the Hesston College Lady Larks, followed by the Colby Community College Lady Trojans at 3 pm. At 7 pm they will play the McCook Community College Lady Indians.

The Lady Knights lost to both the Lady Trojans and the Lady Indians last weekend in the Subway Invite.

The Lady Knights are coming off their first win of the season against Hastings College Junior Varsity and have a 1-5 record on the season. Josie Palmer leads the Lady Knights in kills with 57 kills. Shelby Wolever has 99 set assists and Megan Chintala has 102 defensive digs to also lead the Lady Knights.

Hesston College Lady Larks will bring a 3-2 record into the tournament. The Lady Larks are led by outside hitter Jessanna Nebel with 56 kills. Nebel has a .209 kill efficiency. As a team, the Lady Larks have a kill efficiency of .185. Jessica Aguilar has 165 set assists to lead the Lady Larks. Emily McMichael has 77 defensive digs.

The Colby Community College Lady Trojans are 5-1 on the season. Their only loss was the first game of the season against Hutchinson Community College. The Lady Trojans were perfect in the Subway tournament. They defeated the Lady Knights in four sets. The Lady Trojans are led in kills by Aleksandra Malekwith 84 kills. As a team, the Lady Trojans have a .255 kill efficiency. Melanie Loiseau has 213 set assists and Maja Jankovic has 125 defensive digs to lead the Lady Trojans.

The McCook Lady Indians are 1-5 on the season. Their only win came against the Lady Knights in a five set thriller at the Subway Invite. Aijahnae Springs has 67 kills to lead the Lady Indians. Dylann Bylund has 153 set assists and Jess Mahan has 86 defensive digs for the Lady Indians.

All matches will be held at the Peter and Dolores Graff Events Center on the campus of McCook Community College.
