For those who have had their lives tragically touched by cancer, they know that the financial burdens faced by those undergoing cancer treatment can be just as burdensome as the disease itself.  Enter organizations like the Gift of Hope.

The Gift of Hope Annual Rummage sale will be held Saturday, September 24, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 1902 West Leota Street.

Organizers say donations of items can be dropped off at the church on Friday, September 23, from Noon to 2:00 pm, or they can be taken to Photographic Images, 401 West 5th Street, anytime prior to the 23rd.  Any items in good repair, except clothing, will be accepted.

The Gift of Hope Cancer Foundation provides assistance to cancer patients and their families in Western Nebraska.

Over 99 percent of the funds raised by the organization go directly back to cancer patients and their families to assist with expenses that aren’t covered by insurance.

In the last year, Gift of Hope has provided over $50,000 in assistance to over 50 cancer patients in Western Nebraska.
