Delores Mae Stearns, 83, of North Platte passed away September 11, 2016 at Centennial Park Retirement Village.
Delores was born February 15, 1933 in Omaha, Nebraska to Mary Kay Little and was adopted by Ray and Ella M. (Parsons) Johnson. She was united in marriage to Norman Stearns in Ogallala, NE on September 10, 1948.
Delores attended the Parkview Community Church of the Nazarene, the VFW, and worked in the kitchen of the Salvation Army on numerous occasions. She enjoyed sewing for many people and missionary services, gardening, embroidering, crafts, and all animals.
Survivors include daughters, Karen (Don) Conn of Gering, Ne, Joyce (Gary) Kohn of North
Platte, Karen Stearns (Dave’s wife) of North Platte, Debbie (Vaughn) Patrick of Gering, NE, and
Donna (Leonard) Moore of North Platte; sister, Barbara (Mark) Deeter of Topeka, KS;
brother, Ron (Mari) Johnson of North Platte; half-sister, Bonnie Little of Palm Springs, Fl;
16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; special friend of the family, Terri Jones of North Platte; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary K. Little; adopted parents, Ray and Ella
Johnson; husband, Norman; two infant children; son, Dave Stearns; and a brother, Cleo Little.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home
with the Reverend Jack Atteberry officiating. Burial will follow at Fort McPherson National
Cemetery near Maxwell. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving
friend from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of
arrangements.
