North Platte – The North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team will host the Southeast Community College Lady Storm at the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium on Tuesday, Oct 18, at 6 p.m.
The match will be the last home match for sophomores Megan Chintala, MaKenna Ketter, Shelby Wolever, Ashley Starr, Josie Palmer, and Jessica Lovitt.
Chintala, from Fleming, Colo. is the daughter of Dana and Lisa Chintala. She plays the Libero / Defensive Specialist position and leads the Lady Knights in defensive digs on the season with 483. Chintala is currently eighth on the Lady Knights all-time career digs list. During her freshman season, Chintala was named to the Region IX All-Tournament team.
Ketter, from Imperial, Neb., is the daughter of Tonja Berry and Mike Ketter. She plays outside hitter. Ketter has 165 kills this season and 526 kills in her career. She also has 87 career blocks.
Wolever, from Brush, Colo., is the daughter of Craig and Kim Wolever. She plays the setter position and has 652 set assists this season and is sixth on the Lady Knights all-time career assists list.
Starr, from Stapleton, Neb., is the daughter of Scott and Bobbi Starr. Playing the right side hitter position, Starr has 42 career kills and 13 career blocks.
Palmer, from Brady, Neb., is the daughter of Robert and Tamara Palmer. This season Palmer has 199 kills and 304 in her career playing the right side hitter position. Palmer also has 64 career blocks.
Lovitt, from Mullen, Neb., is the daughter of Jay and Brenda Lovitt. Lovitt leads the Lady Knights this season in kills with 206 kills and in blocks with 102 blocks in the middle blocker position. Lovitt ranks 12th on the Lady Knights all-time career blocks list. As a freshman, Lovitt was named to the All-Region IX Division II team.
The Lady Knights are 9-21 on the season and 1-2 in Region IX Division II play.
The Lady Storm are 5-21 on the season and 0-3 in the region. Zoie Allen leads the Lady Storm in kills with 201. Madison Biesecker leads the Lady Storm in set assists with 674 assists. Mikayla Hoefelman leads with 233 defensive digs.
In addition to being “Sophomore Night”, there will be a recognition of the part-time employees who are involved in the athletic department between the second and third sets.
The college will also recognize the retired faculty and staff at the game.
Prior to the game, there will be a tailgate for all fans in the north parking lot.
