Roger W. Sprague, 73, of North Platte passed away October 18, 2016 at his home.
Roger was born November 13, 1942, in North Platte to Wilmer and Margaretta (Prosise) Sprague. He grew up in North Platte, where he attended North Platte Public Schools. Roger enlisted in the United States Army, being stationed in Germany, and later being transferred to the National Guard. He worked for the City of North Platte and at the Rock Island Railroad out of Chicago. He hired on the UPFE in 1968. On April 29, 1969 he married Kathy McEntire in North Platte. To this union were born two daughters. In 1985 he was promoted to foreman, retiring in 2002.
Roger’s hobbies were amateur ham radio, and golfing with his friends and grandsons. He was a whiz at electronics, and was a man who loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Kathy of North Platte; daughter, Liane Sprague of North Platte; grandchildren, Trent, Tyler, and Quentin of North Platte, Tyrel of Oklahoma City, and Christian and Rylea Diaz of North Platte; great-grandchildren, Tatum, Braelynn, and EverLeigh; sisters, Betty Nichols, Julie (Tony) Pitre, and Donna Cross; and several other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Kim, and daughter Michelle Diaz; infant son, Brent; granddaughter, Cydney Diaz; and brothers, Steve, and Harold.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2016 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Joe Chitwood presiding. Burial will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell with military honors graveside. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with the family receiving friends 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
