Loretta J. Clang

Loretta J. Clang, age75 of North Platte, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. She was born March 7, 1941 at Broken Bow to Roy and Eva (Myers) Kieborz. Loretta attended rural schools in Litchfield and later graduated from Thedford High School in 1959. She earned an Associate’s Degree from Mid Plains Community College and worked in administration with juvenile probation for a number of years. She was united in marriage to Nels Clang on May 29, 1960 at Seneca Nebraska. The couple lived in Anselmo before moving to North Platte in 1968. Loretta was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an avid reader, wrote poetry and played the french horn with the Sandhills and North Platte Symphonies. She and Nels attended the Bethel Church. Her family that will cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, Nels, of North Platte, her five sons, Bob (Judy) Clang and Joe (Yvonne) Clang both of North Platte, Dan (Tammy) Clang of Greeley, Co, Ron (Margie) Clang of Colorado Springs, CO, and James (Stefanie) Clang of Broken Bow, NE, two sisters, Diana (Jim) Wilson of Lincoln and Cathy (Marty) Templin of Longmont, CO, grandchildren, Larry, David (Tina), Jamdan, Aaron (Sara), Caala, Emma, Matthew, Renee, Timothy, Jonathan, Benjamin, Brandon, Tasha, Abigail, Guydon, and Charlie, great-grandchildren, Gavin, Baylee, Rowan, Fynlee, Joseph, Parker, Brody, Miley and Ella, and her coffee girls that included Linda Rudolph, Sharon Shuler, Shirley Eggers, Linda Atkeson, and Lynette Britain. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother. Family and friends will celebrate her life at 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at The Bethel Church and burial will follow at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her memory. Visitation will be 9:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 pm at Carpenter Memorial Chapel which in care of arrangements.
