Wanda Nelson, age 94 of North Platte passed away October 28, 2016 at Bluffton, Indiana. Wanda was born in Frontier County, N.E. March 3, 1922 to Daniel and Ruie (Wood) Maret. Wanda was a graduate of the University of Nebraska School of Agriculture in Curtis. After Normal Training education obtained there she taught in country schools before her marriage. She was an avid reader. She faithfully did the Jumble Puzzle everyday in the paper as well as other extra puzzles on her Kindle. Wanda and Clark lived in Lincoln County North of Moorefield from 1943-1975. She was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker and enjoyed the local homemaker clubs. She taught Sunday School and was a very active member of the Berean Church in Curtis. In 1975 she and Clark moved to North Platte, N.E. There she became involved in the Berean Church. She also baby sat for her next door neighbor for many years. She and Clark enjoyed many trips together visiting their children in Portland, Oregon and Bluffton, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 66 yrs. Clark Nelson, and 2 brothers John and Marvin Maret. Surviving are her children Bradley (Marcy), of North Platte and Geraldine (Warren) Morton of Bluffton, Indiana, granddaughters, Lisa and LeAnn Morton of Indianapolis, sisters, Hilda Wolgamott of Curtis and Claudia Benda of Alliance N.E., special granddaughter, Amy Hanridge of Pinetop, Az, several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11:00 am Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Berean Church. Burial will be at the Curtis Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 8 pm Wednesday with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 pm at Carpenter Memorial Chapel who is in care of arrangements.
