Sharolyn Darlene Northcutt

Sharolyn Darlene Northcutt, age 73 of North Platte, passed away Wednesday November 16, 2016 at Great Plains Health.
Sharolyn was born on August 19, 1943 in Dimmitt, TX to Florence “Sonny” and Mildred (Kleman) Ball. She graduated from nursing school in 1962. She worked in several places including the hospital in the area around Amarillo, TX. She moved to Mullen, NE in 1985 and worked as a nurse for the Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home for many years, as well as other nursing homes in the surrounding area. She took her profession very seriously and helped everyone she could and loved the work she did. She was a wonderful and caring nurse for 42 years. Her hobbies were gardening and she loved calving season and taking care of the calves. Throughout her life she cared for everyone around her and was always there to nurse a sick animal back to health.
Sharolyn is survived by her children, Kim (Al) Clapsaddle, Mark (Charlie) Northcutt, Kippy (Derrick) Missing; grandchildren Chas (Trent) Fecht, Kenny (Christy) Cash, Richard Cash, Peyton Mentzer, Kendal (Rashawn) Missing; great grandchildren Brooke, Hailey and Chloe Fecht, Kaylyn, Chase, Kylie and Chelsea Cash; siblings Odetta Robinson, Daryl (Rose) Ball, Kyle Ball, Twila (Chris) Williams, and Renae (Ronnie) Martin; as well as special family friends JoAnn Evans and Lloyd and Tammy Cash.
She was preceded in death by her parents Florence “Sonny” Ball and Mildred Ball; sisters Valeria “Sam” Griffen and Pat Simants; brother Kirk Ball; granddaughter Emily Northcutt; and brothers-in-law Dutch Robinson and Tom Simants.
Sharolyn will be missed by a lot of friends, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Great Plains Health ICU for their extraordinary care and love during her stay. In honor of Sharolyn’s wishes, burial will be at a later date. Adams and Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
