OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Three people were injured when a sport utility vehicle crashed into the terminal at Omaha’s airport.
The incident happened around 1:35 p.m. Monday at Eppley Airfield.
Omaha Airport Authority Police Chief Tim Conahan says the man driving the Jeep Grand Cherokee had just arrived on a flight from California.
Conahan says the man’s brother needed to use the restroom, so he asked the man to drive around the terminal and pick him up.
But the driver was startled when he shifted into reverse and then put the SUV in drive. The vehicle hit the driver’s brother and a woman getting into her car before smashing into a revolving door and window.
One person was in critical condition and the second person was in serious condition. The driver sustained minor injuries.
