Mona Crow, 83, of Arnold, passed away peacefully April 29, 2017, at her home.

Mona Mae was born to Lee and Lena (Strawn) Sargent on June 28, 1933, in Dannebrog. She was the older of two children.

As a child, she lived in Stromsburg. Her family moved to Logan, where she lived until her sophomore year. The Sargents then moved to Arnold. Upon graduation from high school, Mona taught a year at Crossroads Country School.

On March 11, 1951, Mona married Bob Crow at the Methodist Church in Arnold. This union was blessed with four children, David Allen, Connie Jean, Karen Kay and Gary Lee. In 1963, she and Bob purchased their farm, where they lived until departing this life. They built their house in 1968. Bob and Mona loved spending time together. They worked side by side for many years.

Mona loved hosting family events. One event that everyone will remember was Easter holidays for the extended family. She and Bob hosted Christmas Eve for their children and grandchildren until Bob passed away in 2010.

Mona was a kind-hearted, soft-spoken lady who enjoyed playing cards with her family. She liked being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren. Mona will be missed greatly and so will her chocolate cake and distinctive laugh.

Those preceding Mona in death were her husband, Bob; parents, Lee and Lena Sargent; in-laws, Les and Sophia Crow; brother, Ron Sargent; brothers-in-law, Darrell Crow, Bill Hickenbottom, Glen Walker, Stanley Deterding and John Leonard; sisters-in-law, Eloise Walker Hayward, Burdette Deterding and Pat Crow; and an infant great-grandson, Brian David Crow.

Survivors include her sons, Dave (Berni) Crow and Gary (Jo) Crow, both of Arnold; daughters, Connie (special friend, Dee Wilkerson) Crow of Kearney and Karen (Dean) Hickenbottom of Spokane, Washington; sisters-in-law, Helen (Gerald) Dorris of Kearney, Kate (Duane) Henry of Callaway and Sharen Leonard of North Platte; 13 grandchildren, Scott Crow, Brandon and Misti Crow, Adam and Amanda Crow, Melissa and Lonnie Abbott, Michael and Holli Koubek, Landon Scott, Lane and Sarah Hickenbottom, Ryan Gibson, Monaca and Adam Brown, Josh Crow, Bob L. Crow, Miranda and Nathan Fry and Megan Luck; and 21 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Chloe, Alexa, Alexis, Charlie, Harbour, Summit, Kirsten, Teagan, Kalli, Brylee, Savannah, Owen, Carson, Eli, Kayden, Kendall, Tristan, Ashton, Ethan and Elizabeth.

Memorials are suggested to the Arnold Cemetery or Arnold Fire & Rescue.

Services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, at the United Methodist Church in Arnold with Pastor Bill Williams officiating. Burial will be at the Arnold Cemetery. Arnold Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
